I have added an "off-topic" category and associated subforum, so that when things go off-topic there's an appropriate place for it.

Administratively, I can move posts.
Historical threads should almost certainly be left alone.
I see it as being useful for discussions that start to deviate. Then one of the participants can suggest moving the discussion to the off-topic forum.
